Margaret Early-Thiele visits with Kiwanis

Margaret Earley-Thiele captured the interest of the members of the Kiwanis
Club of Banner Elk by telling of the recent accomplishments of the the
Mayland Community College Foundation.  Speaking on July 11, she highlighted
the objectives of economic development and workforce skill training
opportunities.  Avery County is fortunate to have classroom learning
opportunities in Newland and Banner Elk, as well as the Spruce Pine campus.
Of particular interest was the Bare Dark Sky Observatory and planet/star
viewing through a 34 inch telescope.  For more information visit
