- Directory Listings - Listings in our website Member Directory and in the Avery Journal-Times annual MyHometown publication
- Announcements in our Weekly Newsletter - Our newsletter reaches over 1000 subscribers. During your first week as a member, we will announce your membership in the newsletter and on Facebook. Then, whenever you wish to announce news, special promotions, or just generally advertise, simply send us your content by Wednesday COB to be included in the newsletter.
- Events Posted on the Website Calendar - Upon request, we will post your events, sales, specials, etc. on our website calendar and in the website news section.
- Member Referrals - The Chamber Office, located at the center of Banner Elk, is a hotspot for area visitors. Everyone entering the Chamber is looking for something. The volunteers help visitors and callers find whatever they’re looking for: hotels, food, activities, shopping and much more. Members are also encouraged to bring printed materials to the Chamber office for display to visitors and guests.
- Networking - On the second Wednesday of each month between February and November, the Chamber has an After Hours networking event. This is your regular opportunity to meet us with professional colleagues and chat about business. The locations of the events change each month and are hosted by Chamber members. Members interested in hosting an After Hour event can contact the Chamber. In addition, the Chamber hosts an annual members dinner in January. Find out more about member events.
- Community Events - Each year, the Chamber puts on great community events, including the Easter Eggstravaganza, Summer Concerts in the Park, 4th of July Parade and Festival, and The Small Town Christmas with the Parade of Lights. Your membership dues help to support these fabulous events that not only serve the local community, but also attract thousands of visitors every year.
- Volunteer Opportunities - The Banner Elk Chamber of Commerce is a volunteer-run organization. We encourage all of our Members to pitch in and volunteer to help. From working a shift at the Chamber, to helping with community and member events, to fundraising and serving on the Board, there are many opportunities. And by serving as a volunteer, members are able to further expand their business network in addition to just having fun and being part of the community.
- Excellent Value - The Banner Elk Chamber offers tremendous value in exchange for your membership dues. With some of the lowest dues in the High Country, you receive year-round advertising, promotion and networking opportunities. Our business membership dues are only $150 per year (which breaks down to $12.50 per month!); even less ($75) for individuals and non-profit organizations. New members may be pro-rated.
